Custom Fleet achieves AWEI Gold certification

After achieving AWEI’s Bronze certification last year, we’re pleased to announce that Custom Fleet has now been awarded Gold Level Certification as part of the 2024 Australian Workplace Equality (AWEI) LGBT Inclusion Awards.

The jump to Gold in 2024 reflects the passion, dedication, and tenacity of our Pride workstream, as part of our broader Diversity network, Intersection.

Achieving and maintaining our AWEI certification is an important part of our journey in creating a safe and inclusive workplace for the LGBTQIA+ community to belong, as part of our Diversity Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Strategy.

How did we achieve this award?

AWEI sets clear criteria for progressive inclusion in the workplace for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Our Pride team worked diligently this year to implement initiatives to pave the way to achieving our Gold award.

Some of the highlights include:

  • Implemented all-gender bathrooms in the Auckland and Melbourne offices

  • Updated gender options within our internal systems to include more options for employees

  • Introduced a dedicated support service for LGBTQIA+ communities via our Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

  • Delivered Pride in Diversity’s “Empowering Allies” training

We’re so very proud of our Pride team!

A big thank you to all members of the team for helping Custom Fleet achieve this recognition. The hard work put in by our Pride team will have benefits for all Custom Fleet crew for many years to come.

While all our work with Pride in Diversity and AWEI applies to our entire crew across ANZ, we are now on our way to achieving the Rainbow Tick endorsement specific to New Zealand.
